چکیده

Heavy metal contamination is listed among the most alarming threats to environment and human health. The detrimental effects of heavy metals in natural span from a reduction biodiversity toxic on marine life—through microplastic born metals, impairment microbial activity soil, animal reproduction. A host different chemical biological technologies have been proposed alleviate environmental by metals. Relatively less attention has paid precipitation as side mechanism general process microbially induced calcite (MICP). This currently receiving great deal interest both theoretical practical standpoint, because its possible applications concrete healing soil consolidation, importance more framework mineral precipitation. In this study, we analyse ability bacteria Vibrio harveyi co-precipitating CaCO3 minerals, together with Cd, Cr, Pb, Zn added form nitrates, solutions containing CaCl2. precipitated carbonatic minerals were function present solution. co-precipitation appears be rather effective fast, concentrations 4 reduced 2 days 97.2%, average, solutions. bioremediation technology could used friendly procedure de-contaminate suitable matrices. high performance makes it particularly interesting for an upscaling lab field.

Determination of heavy metal (Cr, Zn, Cd and Pb) concentrations in water, sediment and benthos of the Gorgan Bay (Golestan province, Iran)

The coastal area of the Caspian Sea and Gorgan Bay are important ecosystems receiving discharge from their tributaries. In this study, concentration of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), zinc (Zn) and chromium (Cr) was seasonally determined at 8 sampling points during 2009-2010. Water samples were collected from the sampling stations and transferred to laboratory in polyethylene containers, whereas, sedi...

Dispersion of Cd , Cr , Cu , Ni , Pb and Zn Particles in a Turbulent Air Flow

From the prospective of air quality, the dispersion of heavy metal pollutants has gain importance in recent past. The pollutants disperse from the point of release to the distant areas transporting contaminants there. Heavy metal pollutants in the form of fine particulate matter can be harmful to human health through inhalation. In this study the lateral dispersion of heavy particles is predict...

Distribution of Cr, Pb, Cd, Zn, Fe and Mn in Lake Victoria sediments, east Africa.

The presence of many metals at trace or ultra-trace levels in the human environment has received increased global attention (WHO 1977; Hutton 1982; IRPTC 1984). Surveillance of concentrations of heavy metals in the environment is of global interest since elements like cadmium, lead and mercury are listed as environmenta]ly dangerous chemical substances. Sediments as a sink for pollutants are wi...
